For more than 30 years, World3D has built its reputation on one specialty: lenticular printing done right. We’ve spent decades developing the technology from what started as a novelty into what has become a powerful marketing tool. We have allowed creative marketers to unleash the medium and delight their audience while conveying their brand message through animation in print.

Today we’re excited to share where that expertise has led next.

MotionWorks Art is a new venture bringing lenticular technique into the fine art world. We have taken the same advancements that allowed the leap from toy to business tool and moved it forward to create limited-edition fine art prints. This isn’t your parents’ lenticular! It’s museum-quality art, produced and framed in large format sizes, designed with motion in its DNA. We didn’t just want to animate existing art. We built this to create art where motion was at the heart of the creative idea.

Art That Moves You

That’s the idea behind MotionWorks Art’s tagline, and it’s literal. Each piece is engineered so the motion is part of the composition, not layered on top of it. A skyline shifts. A wave keeps breaking. The work has a pulse. We think you will agree that this isn’t just art in another print format, this is an entirely new art medium.

The initial collection features two artist tiers:

  • Signature Series, led by acclaimed artist James Gerde, bringing his distinctive visual style to large-scale motion pieces in limited editions.
  • Featured Artist Series, opening with work from Emeric Le Bars, whose dynamic cityscape and motion photography translates naturally into the medium.

Every piece ships with a signed certificate of authenticity and is produced in small, numbered editions.

Why This, Why Now

We started World3D to push the boundaries of what lenticular printing is capable of and the more we pushed, the more it became obvious that the technique deserved a stage beyond trade show booths and retail displays. Fine art collectors, hospitality designers, and hotel/gallery spaces looking for a genuine “wow” moment are exactly the audience this medium was built for.

MotionWorks Art is where that work lives. If you’ve ever wondered what 30 years of lenticular expertise looks like when it’s aimed purely at art rather than commercial print runs, this is your answer.
